If you have something that you think would be meaningful to the person in front of you… so much the better. Last year was my first and also thought long and hard about what I would do to gift to the community. I was shy and out of place the first couple days and it wasn’t until my 3rd day that I went out and I had more fun giving people rides than anything I did that week. Met people from all over the world and found it really made an impression on both me and the people I picked up.
I don't smoke, so it wasn't of use to me, but the person I gave it to was really excited. Leashed lighters like FCB_TB mentions are a great gift idea , but not so cheap if you're gifting a lot of them. Food and drink are almost always appreciated, more so than random trinkets, and are super cheap per serving if you're picking one thing to gift and buying it in bulk. Giving gifts is never required, but it's something burners love to do for each other without any expectation of something back. Found something you love but want to make it even more uniquely you?

Once you have entered your payment information and submitted your recurring gift, Burning Man Project will automatically charge your credit card monthly until you cancel. I can definitely agree with the food/drinks. You will remember that ice cream sandwich you randomly got, or that ice cold beer from someone more so than some of the gifts people give out. Shipping policies vary, but many of our sellers offer free shipping when you purchase from them. Typically, orders of $35 USD or more qualify for free standard shipping from participating Etsy sellers.

No one is expecting a gift from you. No one is going to look down at you for not being f’ing Santa Claus. ;-) Just show up, smile at folks, help out when help is needed, and otherwise join the reindeer games. Too often virgins feel obligated to gift and the gifts are just random trinkets they bought in bulk at Walmart. I think it usually takes a year or two to really understanding what ‘gifting’ means in practice. Usually it just means being nice to people, nothing physical required.

I always meet great folks that way. For Burners who like to stay up at night, which is all of them, they need to wear lots of light-up accessories, from flashing fur coats to light-up hats and glasses and rings and necklaces. Look for electroluminescent wire, flashing blinky lights and such.
Half the cuisine on the playa contains the cancer-causing, fatty hog meat because, well, 99.4 percent of Burners love bacon. Bacon-themed band-aids, chocolate covered bacon, a Lady Gaga-inspired bacon dress? It’s up to you… It’s not our fault if you are friends or partners with the .6 percent who don’t love bacon. While RVs are now all the rage at Burning Man, there are still those participants that brave the elements of the playa with a little ol’ tent.
Bonus Burning Man Accessory Idea = PATRIOTISM
My last burn I got a food permit and gifted a few hundred ears of cooked sweet corn. I was able to get a few camp members to help out last minute. On my second year, I was busy with an art project with Inferno that we called Burning man - MyFace project, so I didn't leave myself much time to buy a gift...

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to help your fellow burner with the gift of yourself. Hand-made trinkets make amazing gifts! But this isn’t the only kind of gift out there. Gifts are neither transactions nor obligations.
The Black Rock Desert playa is vast, so everyone rides a bike at Burning Man. Baskets and tassels and bells are great gifts, and, because so much goes on at night at Burning Man, bike lights are as well. Fur is everywhere at Burning Man. They love giving hugs at Burning Man, and fur feels lovely to touch, but temperatures also drop at night and it can feel a tad nippy out in the middle of the desert. Do you know how all of the art is made out at Burning Man? Contributions from donors who love art or Burning Man or love the people who love art or Burning Man.
This is the best list of burning accessories that you have listed here. I liked the faux fur coat and the burning man goggles. My top tip would be to check out some local thrift shops for unique vests, as you can find some really cool and awesome things to wear! I bought a really cool faux fur vest to wear at the burn this year, and have bought several others for $5 a piece at Goodwill.
Go harvest lint from the lint traps in the dryer and hand out wads of pocket lint. I think in case people don't have pocket lint this would be very useful. Gifting doesn't necessarily mean bringing stuff to give people. Eplaya.burningman.org needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding. People love a tasty snack out in the middle of the playa if you bring extra. Chocolate will melt, but you can get creative.
Necklaces and jewelry can really make your Burning Man outfits pop, and there are a couple awesome tribal/ coin tassel necklaces available that cheap and beautiful. Another amazing and stylish way to stay warm while exploring the playa at night is with one of these awesomely affordable bohemian wraps/ hooded blankets. All of the designs are stunning and would look amazing out on the playa. Made 100% from material acrylic wool, it’s comfortably soft and warm and perfect for late-night strolls. While there are also tons of more budget-friendly options which only cost $20-30, but from my experience, they don’t work as well and the material isn’t great.
